Subdivisions

Project: 12 Pine Valley Pass, Connolly
Brief: 15 lot subdivision amongst exclusive homes in a built up residential area. DZC were engaged to remediate site by stripping and carting grass and topsoil from site, screening through 1.0m of existing fill and removing limestone.
Existing retaining walls were reinforced and extended, and new limestone retaining walls built and certified. Fill was imported and trimmed to accommodate for future house designs with steps within the lots. Existing brick paved intersections were removed and replaced to accommodate for sewer mains installation and drainage upgrades. Sewer boring under roads was implemented to minimise open excavation. All council verges were reinstated to council specification.
Outcome:  A small lot subdivision with limited access completed successfully within the major Lot and all residents were pleased with the construction methods and end results. Our experience and array of equipment allows us to successfully complete such projects on time and budget with minimal disturbance to residents.

Drainage

Project: Costco, Perth Airport
Brief: DZ Civil were engaged to install drainage storage for re-use, infiltration systems and carpark drainage to contain a 1:100 year storm event within the site. Due to product availability and design constraints, DZ Civil offered alternate products achieving the desired results and cost savings, and were able to deliver the project on budget and within the specified time frame.
Outcome:  The drainage storage systems installed enabled more efficient use of the lot adding additional carparking space and usable areas.

Sewer

Project: 124 Wright Street, Highgate
Brief: DZ Civil were engaged to upgrade Water Corporation sewer main, and install sewer protection tunnel with access over the new main. This project was not entertained by other contractors due to the limitations and difficulty of the site.
The open excavation was 3.5m deep and only 1.5m away from an existing residence. A sewer bypass main was installed to accommodate for the removal and replacement of the existing main. The site was dewatered using vacuum pumps and footings for MRDWA culverts installed.
Culverts were installed with brick access chamber constructed to Water Corporation and Engineering specifications. A challenging project due to limited access and site conditions that was safely and successfully completed through the experience that DZ Civil are renowned for.
Outcome:  The client was able to subdivide and sell her rear block as the sewer protection tunnel enabled the easement to be removed, and a dwelling be built over it.
